abyss
I opened my eyes, dazed.
At least I was no longer lost.
Too much information, my head wouldn’t turn on.
With so much noise, you can’t think.
Few things speak as much as silence.
The silence after a question.
The silence in an awkward reunion.
The silence after an “I love you.”
A point in the abyss, we lose dimension.
The mountain.
Dawn.
Stay always at the top, the view is better from there.
Insignificant but brave, with only what we have.
The line has never been so thin.
Not a leap, just letting go.
The expanse of possibilities.
Responsibilities irrelevant.
Freedom.
Used to winning.
Dodging with the hand I was dealt.
I’ve already folded for being asleep.
The first time is a mistake.
The second, a decision.
If everything is a game,
Don’t get mad if I get tired of playing yours.
What was the last thing you said
To those who are no longer here?
Nonexistent memory.
Avoiding melodrama.
Repeating the weeks.
